Job Description

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner. Key responsibilities include drink preparation, customer service, bar management, inventory control, cash handling, compliance with alcohol service laws, event support, team collaboration, and problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

Mix and serve drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences, including classic cocktails, new drinks, wine, beer, and other beverages.
Greet guests warmly, take drink orders, and provide attentive service. Engage with customers to enhance their experience, answer menu questions, and make recommendations.
Manage bar operations efficiently, including restocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and setting up and closing the bar.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and conduct regular inventory checks to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Adhere to all local regulations regarding alcohol service, including verifying age, refusing service to intoxicated individuals, and following health and safety guidelines.
Assist in preparing and serving drinks for special events, private parties, and functions.
Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.

Candidates with supervisory experience will be highly regarded and may be considered for a team lead role.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years bartending experience or similar role.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; bartending school certification is an advantage.
Proficient in mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Good math skills for handling transactions.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, and proper serving techniques.
Understanding of local alcohol service laws.
