Job Description
Title: Bartender
The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Part-Time Bartender. Known for providing its members with an exceptional and personalized experience, the Glen Oaks Club has maintained its stature as a "home away from home" for nearly 100 years.
Summary: Provides bar service to club members and guests. Maintains general standards of stocking glassware, liquor, beer, wine, and miscellaneous bar supplies. Ensures sanitation standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Take orders, prepare, and serve drinks to members and guests in a timely manner while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Ring up orders and provide accurate receipts for member signatures.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of bar stock and requisition liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and supplies as needed.
- Ensure bar sanitation procedures comply with Health Department regulations.
- Stock appropriate glassware for all shifts and notify bar management of shortages.
- Perform all bar opening and closing duties, including side work to ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with setup of happy hour buffet when necessary.
- Assist with taking cocktail and food orders on the floor when required.
- Handle member complaints and issues professionally.
- Maintain proper pour and quantity control of liquor and wine.
- Assist with inventory as directed by the Beverage Manager.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with members, coworkers, management, and the public.
- Adhere to all club regulations, policies, and work procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel/resort, or club preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Inventory control and reordering skills.
- Ability to work unusual hours, including weekends and holidays.
