Job Description
We are seeking a committed and proactive Bar Manager to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The Bar Manager will promote and grow the business, hire and train staff, and ensure patrons receive excellent drinks, food, and service. Key responsibilities include managing inventory and resources, planning promotional events, enforcing quality and safety controls, maintaining licenses and vendor contracts, creating staff schedules, and setting business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. The role also requires the ability to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage business operations such as maintaining liquor licenses, negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory, and managing budgets
- Hire, train, and supervise staff to provide excellent service
- Create effective schedules and resolve staffing conflicts to ensure coverage during peak hours
- Enforce quality and safety standards
- Plan and participate in promotional events
- Handle conflicts and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; additional education or restaurant/management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively and make decisive decisions
