Job Description
Title: Bartender / Beverage Cart - Ironwood
The Bartender is responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and take beverage orders from restaurant servers or directly from guests.
- Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages as ordered, complying with company standards.
- Verify age requirements by checking guest identification for alcohol purchases.
- Collect payment for drinks and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Collaborate with the Bar Manager to ensure the bar area is fully equipped with necessary tools and products; prepare inventory or purchase orders to replenish supplies.
- Serve snacks or food items to guests seated at the bar when appropriate.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
- Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping bar surfaces, glass doors, and windows as needed.
- Provide guidance to guests on Cleveland Metroparks activities and other regional information.
- Keep direct supervisor informed of key issues or concerns.
- Perform duties safely and efficiently to maintain a safe work environment; respond to hazardous situations by taking corrective actions and notifying supervisors promptly.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Prior bartending experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must complete the Serve-Safe program after hire.
- Knowledge of cocktail recipes and mixology.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
- High accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and independently with initiative.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work a variable schedule including mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
