Title: Nashville Riverboats Bartender

GENERAL PURPOSE

Courteously and efficiently delivers and serves food and beverage items to assure guest satisfaction and maximize departmental revenues and profitability.

ENVIRONMENT

Continuous standing, walking, bending, and stooping in a noisy and hot environment. Work occurs on a vessel with limited personal space and public areas. Shifts may last twelve hours with varying daily schedules. The role involves prolonged strenuous physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments while cruising on a dining vessel away from shore for 2-5 hours per cruise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Arrive on time, in proper uniform, neat and orderly, with all required tools (pens, wine opener, name tag, supplies).
Stock and maintain food, beverage, and supply par levels at bars.
Have recipe knowledge of all drinks and consistently mix beverages without under or overpouring liquor.
Uphold liquor serving laws, never serving minors or yacht crewmembers.
Manage the point-of-sale system and accurately charge guests.
Maintain and clean all bar equipment.
Keep a sanitary work area free of clutter, meeting Board of Health sanitation requirements.
Receive beverage items and supplies and store them properly using FIFO inventory method.
Organize and clean liquor cage, walk-in cooler, soda storage, juice and coffee racks, wine coolers, and other areas as directed.
Maintain a positive, supportive work environment through professional communication.
Support and follow all company policies, including Yacht Hospitality System and Starship Safety.
Promote good business principles by maintaining confidentiality regarding company business.
Exhibit proper hygiene and sanitary habits.
Be friendly, courteous, and cheerful at all times.
Assist other crewmembers and departments for overall yacht operation.
Fulfill station bill requirements and participate in passenger safety drills.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Basic knowledge of restaurant service and strong beverage preparation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
Physical ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs, reach up to seven feet, and work in spaces as narrow as 1.5 feet.
Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with bar equipment and appliances.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

MATERIAL/EQUIPMENT USED

General restaurant equipment including Point of Sale system.
Basic cleaning equipment such as vacuums and glass cleaner.

UNIFORM

Dark blue jeans (no holes or tears), brown rubber-soled shoes, company-issued white button-down collar oxford-style shirt (long or short-sleeved), apron, and assigned name badge.
