Title: Barback

Location: Renaissance Saint Elm Dallas Downtown Hotel - Dallas, TX 75201 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary Range: $15.00 per hour

Position Purpose: Assist in delivering food and beverage service to restaurant and bar guests.

Responsibilities:

Stock bar items including glassware, straws, toothpicks, napkins, garnishes, ice, towels, and cleaning supplies.
Assist with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, washing and preparing garnishes.
Ensure taps, coolers, blenders, and coffee makers are clean and operational.
Help bartenders take customer orders and process them using the point-of-sale system during peak hours.
Clear tables, remove dishes, glassware, and silverware properly.
Clean bar and table surfaces, chairs, railings, and high-touch areas throughout shifts.
Remove and dispose of trash bags around the bar area.
Sweep and mop bar service areas and customer common areas.
Securely store liquor, beer, and wine products.
Wash glassware and dishes if needed.
Assist the service team to exceed guest expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Supportive Functions:

Assist with guest inquiries.
Follow all company safety and security policies.
Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Physical Demands:

Primarily indoor work with controlled temperature.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures (freezer at -10°F, kitchen up to 110°F) for up to one hour.
Stand and move around for up to four hours.
Maneuver in limited space and carry out tasks promptly across departments.
Lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts up to 250 lbs.
Use fine motor skills for operating office and bar equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
Prior hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.
Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Good communication skills (verbal, written, electronic).
Leadership capability and strong customer relations skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Basic computer and computational skills.
Ability to handle customer interactions with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, POS systems.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Strong issue resolution and analytical skills.
Knowledge of table and bar service, spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles.

Grooming and Attendance:

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential; irregular attendance may lead to disciplinary action.
Ability to work varying schedules as needed.
Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
