Title: Barback - Foundation Room (House of Blues Houston)

Role and Responsibilities:

Maintain, stock, and clean the bar to support bartenders' efficiency and productivity.
Stay informed of current menu items and special event guidelines.
Handle side duties such as stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
Clean and maintain bar equipment.
Perform opening, running, and closing side duties according to policy.
Properly dispose of trash and recyclables, following local codes.
Operate trash compactor per policy.
Ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with local ordinances and company policies.
Keep trash containers clean, odor-free, and lined.
Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
Keep ice bins and bars stocked per venue specifications.
Report maintenance issues.
Attend pre-shift meetings conducted by the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications: Required:

Responsible Alcohol Training Certification or equivalent (State or County License or Certification may be required).
Ability to work late hours with a flexible schedule.
Good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
Tolerance and appreciation of diverse cultures, music, and art forms.

Preferred:

Minimum 3 years of experience in positive customer-facing environments.
Experience recognizing valid IDs.
Experience working in a live music environment.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

Fast-paced, often loud and stressful environment.
Prolonged periods of standing and working indoors/outdoors.
Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques.
Physically intensive work.
