Title: Bartender

Reports To: Restaurant Manager, Banquet Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Clubhouse Manager Supervises: No supervisory duties included in this position.

Job Summary: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a pleasant, professional, and friendly manner.

Interaction:

Frequent interaction with members and their guests
Occasional interaction with children

Essential Functions:

Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available
Restock the bar at the beginning of the shift
Scratch off TABC stickers from empty bottles and submit liquor requisitions at shift end
Assist Beverage Manager with inventories
Follow set-up procedures
Prepare garnishes, mixes, and pre-mixed drinks
Greet members and guests
Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to approved recipes
Request additional supplies as necessary during busy periods
Report complaints to a manager promptly
Maintain and clean bar area and equipment
Maintain records of liquor, beer, wine, tobacco, and sundries to ensure par stock
Keep daily inventory and track high-demand drinks
Clean and secure the bar according to procedures
Attend staff meetings as required
Occasionally take and serve food orders
Perform other related duties as assigned
Arrive on time and maintain productivity throughout the shift

Additional Responsibilities:

Do not serve alcohol to intoxicated individuals or anyone under 21
Report intoxicated members/guests or minors requesting alcohol to a supervisor immediately
Always check ID if legal drinking age is in question; no ID means no alcohol
Offer alternate transportation to impaired individuals who are driving
Comply with all TABC and Club regulations regarding alcohol service

Working Conditions:

Restaurant/bar setting
Occasional exposure to cold and hot temperatures

Requirements:

Minimum age of 18 years
Valid TABC certification to serve alcohol
Valid Food Handler’s certification (per Texas law)
Outgoing personality with honesty and integrity
Courteous, tactful, kind, and respectful to others
Ability to arrive on time and interact well with coworkers
Ability to understand and follow rules, procedures, and supervisor directions
Effective and professional communication skills

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or sit up to eight hours per day
Use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls
Reach with hands and arms
Hearing and speaking ability sufficient for effective communication
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, with frequent lifting of 20-30 lbs
Independent mobility throughout the clubhouse
