Title: Barback

Summary: The Barback assists the Bartender in delivering the highest quality service to guests while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout operating hours. This role requires a passion for the food and beverage industry and a commitment to creating a memorable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation following all Cosm policies.
Prepare and stock the bar section before service.
Follow Cosm’s Pillars of Service for every guest.
Support team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
Perform basic mathematics as needed.
Engage guests, coworkers, and managers positively and professionally.
Ensure excellent guest service from arrival to departure.
Be knowledgeable about company products, services, promotions, and events.
Follow supervisors' directions positively, including additional side work and cleaning.
Adhere to state liquor laws and company policies regarding alcohol service.
Attend scheduled trainings related to food, bar, or service.
Keep breakage to a minimum.
Maintain and rotate stock in coolers.
Secure alcohol storage areas.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of bar setup and closing procedures.
Work flexible shifts including late hours, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain friendliness and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Exhibit good time management and communication skills.
Follow all safety guidelines to provide a safe working environment.

Experience and Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of barback experience in a fast-paced full-service environment.
Thorough understanding of mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic beverages.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English with basic writing skills.
Possess a food handler’s card and state-recognized alcohol certification.
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Physical ability to stand and walk continuously, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform other physical tasks as needed.

Additional Information:

Must be at least 18 years old at employment.
