Life as a Food and Beverage Manager:
- Schedule associates at proper staffing levels, monitoring labor costs daily for efficiency.
- Ensure restaurant and banquet operations comply with brand and hotel franchise standards.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events and review daily specials.
- Maintain food and beverage quality and guest service standards; resolve guest complaints.
- Assist sales and banquet staff with banquets, social parties, and special events.
- Collaborate with the Sales Office to ensure all event details are properly executed.
- Monitor expenses to stay within budget and assist in developing the annual operating budget.
- Requisition food and equipment with clear specifications on quantity and quality.
- Manage hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, evaluations, training, and scheduling.
- Analyze guest feedback and financial reports to monitor restaurant performance and initiate corrective actions.
- Supervise banquet functions to ensure proper service until completion.
- Conduct monthly inventories and implement programs to reduce breakage and loss.
- Promote sales through incentive plans and programs to increase customer satisfaction.
- Maintain open communication with all associates and departments.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Conduct training on safety, security, departmental procedures, and service guidelines.
- Complete all required documentation as mandated by state, brand, and franchise.
- Ensure proper posting of all banquet charges.
- Participate in annual budget development and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour, and Health regulations.
- Culinary school degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in food and beverage or hospitality-related work.
