Title: Bar Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for daily bar and lounge shift operations, including supervision of staff. This role assists with promoting the lounge, menu planning, maintaining standards, supporting servers during peak periods, and managing liquor inventories and controls. The Bar Manager strives to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget and enforcing all legal requirements professionally and consistently. The position also determines training needs and strengthens the food and beverage team by assisting in other outlets when necessary.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional fields,

2-year degree from an accredited institution in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 2 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in beverage control and team leadership within a hospitality environment required.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Bar/Lounge Operations:

Implement beverage policies and procedures throughout the property.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.
Manage beverage control including inventory, portion control, cost controls, sales analysis, issue and returns, and food standards.
Monitor adherence to liquor control policies.
Attend meetings to understand group needs.
Assist in financial management through comprehension of budgets and payroll reports.
Manage controllable expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.
Ensure compliance with Bar/Lounge policies and maintain sanitation standards.
Manage inventories according to budget and business levels.
Assist with menu development and promotions.

Leading Bar/Lounge Team:

Train staff on liquor policies and procedures.
Supervise staffing to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.
Communicate expectations and critical event information to staff.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:

Deliver excellent customer service.
Engage with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service.
Address guest concerns effectively.
Empower employees to provide outstanding service.
Focus on guest satisfaction and continuous improvement through feedback and review.

Managing Human Resource Activities:

Support orientation and training programs for new hires.
Participate in corrective action plan development and implementation.
