Location: Tucson, AZ 85735 Position Type: Seasonal, Non-Exempt Salary: $15.15 - $17.00 per hour plus potential tip earnings Department: Food and Beverage Reports To: Bar Supervisor
Job Summary: Old Tucson Entertainment is seeking an observant and efficient barback to support the bartending team in providing prompt and seamless service. The barback will assist with bar cleanliness, restocking supplies, preparing garnishes, and other tasks to ensure smooth bar operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking garnishes, straws, napkins, and ensuring bartenders have clean towels and plasticware.
- Keep the bar well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
- Check taps and appliances to ensure proper function.
- Restock and change kegs when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing coolers, and emptying trash.
- Learn and memorize menu items and recipes.
- Ensure proper storage of delivered items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet minimum legal age to serve alcohol.
- Courteous, friendly, and professional appearance.
- Knowledge of beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Observant, thorough, responsible, and punctual.
- Ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment:
- Both interior and exterior work.
- Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to maneuver on uneven surfaces and carry heavy items as required.
