Title: Bartender

Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to all bar guests, including taking orders, suggestive selling, preparing and serving beverages, and clearing tables. The Bartender continually seeks opportunities to create memorable experiences by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reconcile transactions at the end of each shift, cash out, and maintain a balanced bank.
Be thoroughly familiar with all menu cocktails and the wine list to assist guests and answer questions accurately.
Complete bar requisitions thoroughly with business levels in mind.
Ensure the lounge/bar area is always clean and orderly, including bar, tables, chairs, floors, walls, and décor.
Stock juices, mixers, soft drinks, beer, wine, liquor, and paper/plastic supplies.
Clean and stock glassware.
Cut and stock garnishes.
Follow the sequence of service for all guests.
Greet guests, take beverage orders, and perform suggestive selling.
Prepare drinks according to recipe standards.
Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws and regulations.
Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for co-workers and guests.
Resolve guest complaints using established procedures.
Participate in pre-shift meetings.
Maintain professional communication with supervisors and managers.
Review and develop guest history records to enhance personalized service for repeat guests.
Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Perform repetitive motions as needed.
Exposure to hot elements and cleaning materials.
Safely prepare bar garnishes.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years experience as a bartender in fine dining or high-volume bar settings; membership-based company experience is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to handle customers and staff with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Valid, non-expired Food Handlers' and Responsible Beverage Service cards.
