Adhere to the schedule set forth by the Saloon Manager and execute the duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ensure that the beers on tap are acceptable to serve (right temperature,
optimal quality, no off-smells, or flavors)
Engage with each patron directly, giving each the attention they deserve, and making them feel welcomed while working to meet their needs quickly and efficiently.
Politely and respectfully address customers’ questions about beer and wine, regardless of their knowledge or experience.
Conform to and enforce regulations set forth by the alcoholic beverage commission (double-checking IDs when necessary, curtailing overconsumption, etc)
Maintain a clean bar, storage, and overall work area.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing saloon operations.
Maintain a pleasant saloon environment.
Work towards continuous optimization of saloon operations by providing Saloon Manager and management with timely feedback.
Play the role of brand ambassador of the Sawdust Festival.
Pay $16.50 per hour, plus tipsQualificationsQualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Available to work day, night, and weekend shifts
Prior bartending / service experience is desirable.
Has a valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate or is able to provide one before their first shift worked.
Able to use tablet-based POS system, and handle cash sales.
Excellent communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people.
Ability to lift 35-50 lbs.
Ability to move full kegs with the aid of a dolly.
Aptitude for, or desire to learn, the mechanical workings of saloon equipment to address problems quickly and efficiently.

Working Conditions:
This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including shift work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in a fast-paced environment, and working within proximity of live music.
Physical Requirements:
A barback will be required to stand for extended periods of time. They will also be required to lift boxes 35-50 lbs. and to move empty / full kegs with the help of a dolly.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate. Physical ability to lift 35-50 lbs and move kegs with a dolly is required.
