Title: Banquets Bartender: Casual

Summary: The primary function of a bartender is to provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing the highest quality cocktails for our guests. The bartender serves beverages professionally and provides sincere service demonstrating self-confidence, grace, and courtesy.

Essential Functions:

Have working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
Set up the bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
Prepare and serve beverages promptly and professionally following established standards and responsible alcohol service.
Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the banquet bar.
Adhere to pouring standards and drink recipes to ensure product consistency and cost control.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all service areas according to departmental procedures.
Work quickly and safely at all times.
Comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.
Maintain positive guest relations.
Be familiar with hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
Participate actively in safety programs and comply with injury reporting and safety requirements.
Support hotel efforts in community service, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Required:

Minimum of 3 years bartender experience in a 4 or 5-star resort environment.
Cash handling and point-of-sale experience (Micros preferred).
TIPS certification.
Valid San Diego County Food Handlers Card.
Strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with vendors, guests, and staff.

Desirable:

Experience at AAA, Mobil, Relais & Chateaux, or other highly rated properties.
Ability to communicate in additional languages.
CPR certification.
Ability to work independently.

Skills: Required:

Wine knowledge.
Previous culinary experience.
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Certification in liquor, wine, and food service training.
Attention to service details.

Desirable:

Ability to anticipate and understand guest needs.
Ability to move quickly and safely in the workspace.
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
Ability to follow directions thoroughly.

Physical Demands:

Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting (up to 25 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally), and climbing.
Frequent standing and walking.
Constant grasping, turning, and finger dexterity.
Frequent standing for long periods.
Vision required to see small print and details clearly.
Hearing required for telephone, radio communication, and emergency alerts.
