Howell's Kitchen & Bar is looking for an experienced bartender to join our team! We are an eclectic American tavern in the Underhills Neighborhood of Atlanta, serving modern takes on classic dishes and drinks. Our bar and scratch kitchen emphasize craftsmanship and service, offering food, drinks, bocce ball, and a spacious patio.

The ideal candidate is a hard worker, self-starter, and maintains a strong work ethic. Key qualities include helpfulness, kindness, approachability, and a guest-focused attitude. A solid knowledge of beer, liquor, wine, and cocktails is essential. We prefer candidates with a minimum of two years of high-volume bartending experience.

Shift availability for both lunch and dinner is required, and weekend availability is a must.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide excellent customer service by taking and preparing orders efficiently while building rapport with clientele
Follow first-time guest procedures and promptly address guest issues, referring to management when necessary
Operate POS system accurately and follow cash handling policies
Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring accurate accounting of all funds
Identify belligerent customers and work with management to maintain a safe environment
Clean bar and surrounding areas as needed
Follow daily and cleaning checklists; participate in bar clean programs
Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies including age verification
Monitor patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
Prepare bar areas according to restaurant standards, including setting décor and stocking supplies
Place product orders and manage inventory with proper rotation
Stay updated on current trends, house specialties, and menu items
Maintain bar/table settings by clearing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling water
Properly open and pour wine, beer, and spirits; participate in pour and cocktail testing
Conclude guest experience by acknowledging their visit and encouraging return visits; actively build your business
Handle to-go orders and communicate menu information accurately over the phone
Consistently adhere to grooming and dress code standards
May be required to lift materials weighing 10-50 pounds alone and over 100 pounds with assistance

Requirements:

Minimum of two years of high-volume bartending experience
Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktails
Availability for lunch, dinner, and mandatory weekend shifts
