Title: Part-Time CityGate Grille Bartender

Location: CityGate Grille Department: CityGate Grille Reports to: Restaurant Manager Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Compensation: $9.50/hour plus gratuity, commensurate with experience and education Age Requirement: Must be 21 or older

Additional Requirements: Must be available Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Schedule subject to change.

Role Summary: This position is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant guests, both directly and through wait staff.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve wine, liquor, and beer in accordance with legal and company standards
Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays
Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drink recipes, wine, and beer trends
Verify guest IDs to confirm age requirements for alcohol purchase
Serve food items to guests seated at the bar promptly and according to established standards
Attend all pre-shift meetings
Stock beer and wine coolers
Maintain knowledge of all menu items, wine lists, daily specials, and beverages offered
Follow safety and sanitation policies
Communicate and collaborate with servers to ensure customer satisfaction
Exhibit a service and sales mentality at all times
Adhere to all cash handling rules and regulations
Understand and follow emergency procedures and evacuations
Collect and report tips at the end of shifts
Perform related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Education:

High school diploma or equivalent
BASSET certification required
Illinois Food Handler Certification preferred
Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service

Experience:

Two or more years bartending experience, preferably in a casual fine dining environment
Micros POS system experience preferred
Must be 21 years of age or older

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Neat and clean appearance
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving skills and basic arithmetic ability
Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk and stand up to 8 hours daily, with or without accommodation
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch as needed
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
