Job Description
Title: Bartender - Evening Shift
Pay Rate: $12 - $16 per hour, plus tips and gratuity. Salary will be based on experience.
Location: Holiday Inn Indianapolis Airport North, 5601 Fortune Circle W, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241
Start Date: Immediate
Note: Interviews are in-person only; no virtual hiring.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests at the bar.
- Demonstrate knowledge of specialty and classic cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages.
- Suggest beverage pairings and maintain fluency in all menu items and ingredients.
- Follow proper service steps efficiently and with a sense of urgency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and seating areas.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, and kitchen during service.
- Greet customers, listen to their preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
- Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
- Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age.
- Take inventory and order supplies to keep the bar well-stocked.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and balance the cash register.
- Adhere to food safety and quality regulations.
- Develop new cocktail recipes.
Job Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of bartending experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet the legal minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and carry items (up to 30 lbs) for extended periods.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive, engaging personality with a professional appearance.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, task, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and knowledge of drink mixing tools and techniques.
