Job Description
Title: Experienced Bartender
Description: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering a safe, engaging, and high-quality guest experience. This role requires strong product knowledge, responsible alcohol service, efficient execution in a high-volume environment, and strict adherence to Massachusetts wage, tip, and service laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Beverage Execution:
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
- Greet guests promptly and engage them to understand preferences, allergies, and special requests.
- Clearly communicate menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Deliver consistent service quality in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible Service & Compliance:
- Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and refuse service when required.
- Comply with all Massachusetts alcohol service laws and company policies.
Operations & Systems:
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash and credit transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area.
- Support inventory controls and restocking as directed.
Side Work & Non-Tipped Duties:
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
- Non-tipped work will be compensated in accordance with Massachusetts minimum wage requirements.
Requirements:
- Prior restaurant or bar experience preferred.
- TIPS certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe), upfront cost approximately $40.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and use POS systems.
- Sound judgment and professionalism.
