Job Overview: The Bartender is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the bar, delivering exceptional service to guests and staff. Key duties include:

Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following established recipes and procedures.
Verify guests’ legal drinking age (21+).
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items and use suggestive selling techniques.
Take orders and deliver food and beverages promptly.
Efficiently operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash transactions properly.
Maintain cleanliness of bar area, glassware, utensils, and surroundings.
Clean spills and track wasted or spilled items.
Inspect food and beverage quality before serving.
Stock and restock bar inventory including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and garnishes.
Conduct inventory checks and notify management of low stock.
Ensure alcohol consumption occurs only in designated areas.
Assist in training new staff members when needed.
Follow all company policies regarding alcohol service, safety, sanitation, and cash handling.

Requirements:

1 to 3 years bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume environment, or equivalent experience/education.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid health permit, food safety, and alcohol awareness certifications required prior to first workday.
Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong knowledge of mixed cocktails and frozen drinks with ability to free-pour to recipe specs.
Must meet minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Stand, walk, and reach continuously during shift.
Lift and carry loads up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Use stairs, ladders, and ramps as needed.
Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral) and hearing.
Communicate clearly in the restaurant’s primary language (primarily English).

Work Environment:

Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
Work in narrow aisles and handle hazards such as broken glass and spills.
Frequent hand washing and glove use required.

Language and Math Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
Effectively communicate with managers, clients, and guests.
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
