Job Description
Title: Bartender
Objective: We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classic cocktails and innovative beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare, and serve beverages and food. Additional responsibilities include upselling items, creating recipes, using proper equipment and ingredients, and handling basic cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. Efficiency, observance, knowledge, and a personable nature are important qualities.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers, determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
- Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
- Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages.
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
- Take inventory and order supplies to keep the bar and tables well-stocked.
- Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Handle credit and debit card transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
- Develop new cocktail recipes.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and meet state minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong task and time management abilities.
- Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience (e.g., TABC, Food Handler's) may be required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
