Title: Bartender

Job Location: Embassy Suites - Austin, TX 78704 Position Type: Full Time

Position Overview: As a Bartender at Embassy Suites Austin, you will create a positive guest experience by promptly and professionally serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You will maintain a clean, organized bar and adhere to responsible alcohol-service standards consistent with Texas regulations and hotel policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests, take orders accurately, and make beverage recommendations.
Prepare and serve drinks following recipes, portion standards, and brand guidelines.
Operate POS/cash handling systems to process orders and payments correctly.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, equipment, glassware, and workstations.
Monitor and restock inventory, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with Texas laws and hotel policies.
Complete opening and closing tasks such as bar setup, prep work, inventory counts, and end-of-shift duties.
Follow health and safety procedures regarding food and beverage handling and storage.
Support hotel events and operations as needed, including banquets and peak service times.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age (required to serve alcohol and meet Hilton/property policies).
Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., responsible alcohol service training, food handler certification if applicable).
Prior bartending experience preferred; strong customer service skills required.
Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine; willingness to learn Hilton’s drink and branding standards.
Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry supplies and perform cleaning tasks.
Regularly perform sanitation duties and handle glassware.

Preferred Skills:

Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer tools.
Efficient and accurate work during busy periods.
Team-oriented with reliable follow-through.
Relevant certifications (responsible alcohol service, food handler) a plus.
