Title: Bartender

Location: Embassy Suites - Austin, TX 78704 Position Type: Full Time

Position Overview: As a Bartender at Embassy Suites Austin, you will create a positive guest experience by serving drinks promptly and professionally. You will prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain a clean and organized bar, and follow responsible alcohol-service standards in accordance with Texas law and hotel policy.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests, take orders accurately, and make recommendations.
Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes, portion standards, and brand/service guidelines.
Operate POS and handle cash transactions accurately following checkout procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, equipment, glassware, and workstations.
Monitor and restock inventory including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with Texas regulations and hotel policies, refusing service when appropriate.
Complete opening and closing tasks including bar setup, preparation, inventory counts, and end-of-shift duties.
Follow health and safety procedures including proper food and beverage handling, temperature, and storage requirements.
Support hotel events and operations during banquets, functions, or peak service times.

Qualifications:

Minimum 21 years of age (required to serve alcohol and meet Hilton/property standards).
Ability to obtain and maintain required local certifications (e.g., responsible alcohol service training, food handler certification if applicable).
Prior bartending experience preferred or demonstrated customer service skills.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine with the ability to learn Hilton drink and branding standards.
Excellent communication and guest service skills.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts.
Capability to lift and carry supplies and perform cleaning tasks (light to moderate lifting).
Frequent sanitation duties and glassware handling.

Preferred Skills:

Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer tools.
Ability to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Team-oriented mindset with reliable follow-through.
Relevant certifications a plus (responsible alcohol service, food handler, etc.).
