Title: SAQ Bartender

Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for delivering elevated, genuine hospitality experiences while preparing and serving beverages in alignment with Still Austin Quarter (SAQ) standards. This role requires blending technical skill, product knowledge, and warm guest engagement to create memorable moments for every guest every shift. Bartenders act as brand ambassadors, promoting loyalty through exceptional service, responsible alcohol service, and attention to detail. The role requires the ability to pivot between volume bartending and cocktail service.

Success Profile: The Bartender will:

Deliver exceptional hospitality by creating welcoming, personalized guest experiences.
Serve as a brand ambassador, building loyalty through storytelling, recommendations, and product knowledge.
Consistently prepare beverages according to SAQ specifications and service standards.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization behind the bar and throughout the facility.
Communicate effectively and positively with teammates, management, and guests.
Operate with accountability and integrity, especially during high-volume service.

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to SAQ recipes and specifications.
Deliver elevated hospitality by greeting guests warmly, making thoughtful recommendations, and anticipating guest needs.
Accurately describe food and beverage offerings, including spirits profiles, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Serve alcohol responsibly and in compliance with TABC guidelines to ensure safety.
Maintain awareness of potential food and beverage allergens and communicate clearly with guests as needed.
Keep the bar, equipment, and service areas clean, organized, and in good condition.
Monitor stock levels and communicate needs or shortages proactively to management.
Process cash and credit card transactions accurately using the POS system.
Assist in addressing guest feedback and service recovery professionally.
Work efficiently under pressure, multitasking during high-volume service while maintaining quality and composure.
Promote teamwork by communicating clearly and supporting fellow team members across shifts and departments.

Qualifications: Required:

Proven bartending or similar hospitality experience.
Strong understanding of cocktail preparation, spirits, and beverage service.
Knowledge of safety, TABC regulations, and food handling best practices.
Ability to communicate clearly and positively with guests and team members.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, late nights, and some holidays.

Certifications:

Current TABC Certification required.
Current Texas Food Handler’s Certification required.

Preferred:

Experience in craft cocktail, spirits-forward, or high-volume hospitality environments.
Strong sales mindset with the ability to upsell thoughtfully and authentically.
Passion for hospitality, storytelling, and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during service.
Ability to lift and carry items such as cases, kegs, ice, and supplies (up to 40 lbs).
Perform repetitive motions including reaching, bending, and pouring.
Work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels and temperatures.
