Job Description

Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix/Avondale is seeking a Bartender to provide customized beverage service to our restaurant/bar customers in a friendly, energetic, and timely manner. The Bartender is responsible for ensuring guests have an enjoyable and relaxing experience at the bar. Associates should be passionate about guest service, able to communicate effectively, and multitask efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly and provide clear descriptions of food and beverage options.
Maintain proper and adequate setup of the bar area.
Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, produce, and manage fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes.
Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes, practicing proper portion control.
Attend monthly departmental meetings.
Input orders accurately into POS and secure payments.
Manage cash transactions, verify charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
Secure and lock all beverages, food, equipment; handle cash drops and safe deposits as needed.
Sanitize and maintain cleanliness in and around the bar.
Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other side work as assigned.
Demonstrate knowledge of current menu offerings and promote drink orders.
Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant and surrounding areas.
Work effectively with service and kitchen teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience in hospitality or bartending preferred.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions, complete tasks, and meet deadlines.
Provide friendly service with a smile.
Flexible schedule including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Punctuality and adherence to clock-in/out policies.
Provide sufficient notice when calling out.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to walk long distances between work sites.
Perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
Lift and carry supplies and other items.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
