Title: Server Bartender (Mesero/Cantinero)

Location: Monsaraz Hotel - San Diego, CA 92106 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary: $17.75 per hour Shift: Any Category: Restaurant - Food Service

POSITION PURPOSE Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and bar area, including setup and general cleaning.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders.
Describe menu items, suggest products, and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Verify customer identification to ensure legal drinking age.
Ensure minors or intoxicated persons are not served alcohol.
Perform opening and closing procedures and maintain stocked and tidy stations.
Restock bar inventory and supplies; secure all liquor, beer, and wine products.
Assist with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, and garnish preparation.
Ensure all equipment (taps, coolers, blenders, coffee makers) is clean and operational.
Maintain cleanliness of restaurant areas by disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down surfaces.
Participate in deep cleaning tasks.
Operate POS system, process payments, accurately handle cash and follow company policies.
Provide professional and courteous service to all guests.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

Assist with guest inquiries.
Follow all safety and security policies.
Report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily indoors with moderate temperatures; occasional exposure to freezer (-10°F) and kitchen (+110°F) environments.
Ability to stand and move continuously for up to 4 hours.
Lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts up to 250 lbs.
Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including grasping, typing, and repetitive motions.
Use hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual abilities to assess product quality and ensure safety.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required.
1-3 years food service experience preferred.
Experience with Micros POS preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer and math skills.
Knowledge of table and bar service; familiarity with spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

GROOMING & ATTENDANCE

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
Regular attendance is essential; punctuality and compliance with company policies are required.
Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs.
Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.

Requires a high school diploma, must be at least 21 years old, and hold Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certifications. Preferred experience includes one to three years in food service and familiarity with Micros POS.
