Title: Bartender (Temporary)

Located inside The Wade hotel, our lively bar features creative cocktails, a selection of wines, and local beers. Enjoy our Chandon Spritz Garden in the summer and take in views of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. CURRENT is popular with both locals and travelers, providing an energetic atmosphere with seasonal bites and noted cocktail culture.

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $16.00
Tipped/Service Charge eligible: Yes
Discretionary Performance Bonus: No

Overview: Serve guests in a hospitable manner to ensure a positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain proper daily bar setup, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily event projections.
Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality.
Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders, mix and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
Comply with all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements related to serving alcoholic beverages.
Input orders at point of sale, create checks for all guests served, and maintain accountability.
Handle cash transactions accurately, verify charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
Secure all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank.
Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available for work.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Hotel experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact well with guests.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverages.
Basic math skills to operate cash register, make change, total checks, and prepare cash drops.
Manual dexterity for garnishing, handling glassware, mixing drinks, and managing stock.
Ability to memorize and promote menu items.
Ability to operate point of sale systems.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Effective verbal and written communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
