Job Summary
Shinmai Moku is seeking a Bartender to join our opening team. Moku is a Japanese izakaya focused on binchotan-grilled skewers, shareable dishes, thoughtful cocktails, and warm hospitality.
In this role, you will help create a lively and welcoming bar experience through attentive service, strong product knowledge, and well-crafted drinks. We seek someone who works with care and urgency, enjoys connecting with guests, and takes pride in both traditional technique and creative execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, sake, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and attention to detail
- Guide guests through the beverage menu and make thoughtful recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting bar environment throughout service
- Verify guest age and comply with all local and state alcohol service regulations
- Handle payments and operate the POS system accurately
- Assist with bar preparation, inventory organization, restocking, and closing duties
- Work closely with the kitchen and floor team to maintain smooth service flow
- Contribute to a positive team culture and guest experience during busy service hours
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
- Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, sake, beer, and Japanese-inspired beverages is a plus
- Strong sense of hospitality and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, team-oriented, and detail-focused
- Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol in North Carolina
- Weekend and evening availability preferred
