Job Description
Position Summary
The Bartender understands and follows alcohol serving laws. They prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while interacting with customers, taking and serving food as necessary. The Bartender maintains a clean and sanitized environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow recipes to prepare cocktails and other drinks, including adding garnish.
- Serve members and customers promptly, including checking identification, accepting payment, and answering questions.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning bar surfaces, furniture, and equipment, and returning used dishware to the bar/kitchen.
- Maintain supplies by restocking liquors, wines, beer, non-alcoholic ingredients, and replacing beer barrels.
- Reconcile the bar's cash register at the end of each shift.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 to 2 years of bartending experience.
- Certified to serve alcohol.
- CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire.
- Ability to routinely bend and lift more than 20 lbs.
- Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the café for prolonged periods.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with inventory and ordering.
